The compulsory requirements for students going on Professional Practice Experience Mental Health ( 80hr) on the end of Semester 2 are:
- Attend minimum of 80% of scheduled classes
- Submit all the theoretical assessments of semester 2 achieve satisfactory pass in the of each unit of competency
- Attend all the lab skills session and achieve satisfactory pass in all the required practical skills for Semester 2
- Submit all the required PPE documents outlined in the PPE Module
You are expected to attend all shifts rostered to you including morning (usually 0700–1530 hrs), afternoon (1400–2200hrs), weekend shifts and public holidays. A professional practice week maybe from Monday to Sunday depending on the facility. You are expected to work an eight hour day with the patients/residents/clients of the clinical facility
There is no guarantee that you will be sent to your closest or preferred facility.
SCEI will arrange PPE for all the students of Diploma of Nursing in different health facilities in metro and regional areas across Victoria and South Australia.
